WhenNOT is a free Doodle alternative built around crossing out conflicts. Start with a date range and let people mark what does not work. For a trip, retreat or weekend away, compare consecutive days rather than choosing each date in isolation.
Organizer accounts and participant accounts are different
Doodle requires an organizer account to finish creating a new poll. Participants can vote without a Doodle account; they supply their name and email. It would be inaccurate to say everyone needs to sign up.
WhenNOT does not require a separate account signup to create a poll. The organizer supplies an email address, and an existing address may need verification. Responders use the shared poll link. Optional calendar connections and booking pages have their own sign-in flow.
Cross out conflicts across a date range
Doodle asks people to vote on proposed options. WhenNOT asks people to mark days or time slots they cannot make. Neither approach guarantees a common time. Check pending responses and maybes before treating an open day as a confirmed plan.

When Doodle may fit better
